WHAT IS ALDI?
Aldi is a common discount supermarket chain that is spread across 20 countries with over 10,000 stores franchises. As of 2020, the company is estimated to be worth almost $53 billion. Aldi was established by two brothers, Karl Albrecht and Theo Albrecht in 1946. In 1960, the franchise was separated into two, Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd.
Aldi Nord is the franchise’s German operation, which is comprised of almost 2,500 stores in western, northern and eastern Germany. Aldi Süd is the franchise’s other German operation and consists of almost 1,600 stores across western and southern Germany. On an international place, Aldi Nord functions all across Denmark, France, the Benelux countries, Portugal, Spain and Poland.
